Help Hussam's Family Survive in Gaza

Hi my name is Pietro and I'm a PhD student at the University of Edinburgh in Scotland. I launched this fund to help Hussam and his family evacuate from Gaza. But as the genocide went on and they have not been able to evacuate, we are now collecting donations to help Hussam's family survive in Gaza. Hussam is a friend and former colleague. All funds will be transferred to Hussam and will go towards helping him provide his family with food, accommodation and any other needs required to survive these dark times.

This is Hussam's message:

I'm reaching out to you today with a plea from the heart, from a place where hope struggles to survive amidst the ruins of conflict. My name is Hussam, and I call northern Gaza my home, where the past five months have been an unending nightmare of bombings, hunger, and shattered dreams.

In this war-torn landscape, where every day brings new horrors and every night echoes with the sounds of destruction, it's hard to hold onto hope. As a dedicated teacher, my passion has always been to shape young minds and inspire the next generation. But for five long months, I haven't been able to step into my classroom. The war has stolen not just my home and livelihood, but my dreams of a better future.

Before the war, I had aspirations of furthering my education, of exploring opportunities beyond the confines of Gaza. But those dreams have been put on hold indefinitely. With no income and no end in sight to the violence, it feels like I'm trapped in a cycle of despair.

But I refuse to give up hope. I refuse to let the darkness of war extinguish the light within me. Your support can help me rebuild my life, piece by piece. Your generosity can provide me with the means to rebuild my home, put food on the table, and dare to dream again.

My ultimate dream is to provide a better future for my children, to give them a life free from the shadows of war. With your help, I hope to one day travel to lands where they can feel safe and secure, where they can pursue their dreams without fear.
