Help Reem's family evacuate Gaza to Egypt

This campaign is being organized on behalf of Reem. My name is Jamilla Hashem, and I am launching this campaign as a last resort to rescue Reem's family members from Gaza to Egypt. Please help reunite Reem with her mom and family.

Reem's story:

My family, of my siblings, 2 brothers, 1 sister, (and me). We have been evacuating from one place to another in the last 4 months. We are being starved and dehydrated. We are exhausted and terrified, and we urgently need your support to leave Gaza as soon as possible.

Before the 7th of October we had a home, agricultural land in Gaza, with many olive trees, various plants of veggies fruits, and flowers, it was our favorite weekend destination. Although the situation before the 7th of October was hard, we had crafted a life we could proudly call our own, filled with beauty and warmth. We cherished our humble home and tended to our agricultural land, a testament to my father's unwavering dedication from his childhood to his last breath, striving to carve out a glimmer of hope for us in Gaza. We have succeeded in providing for ourselves through our work, and we were among the few families who managed to carve out a fulfilling and prosperous existence in Gaza.

But now everything is gone, and even the chance to start from zero is gone also. We lost everything. 

The pictures you see were taken by family members of our land and houses in the very north of Gaza (2023). 

You will see pictures of me, Reem, in my office and my art studio which has been completely destroyed.

Reem (me) I’m a Digital Artist with a certificate in ICT “information communication Technology“ I Started my own business of arts and T-shirt design, and I worked with many art companies.

My brother Ayman is a motion graphic designer with a certificate in software engineering. He and I were at the beginning of starting our own project that specialized in visual art videos, along with our sister, Eman, who is our translator had a main role in translation and communication with clients.

My brother Adhem is the manager of our business with a certificate in business engineering. Though there are no jobs in the Gaza Strip, with our hard work, we were able to find jobs online and now even this option is gone for us.

To secure an exit through the Rafah border, each family member has to pay $5k to Hala Company to facilitate their exit to Egypt (and $2.5k for children under the age of 16) and also they even add more benefits to expedite our application. All remaining costs will go towards securing accommodation, visa/travel documents, and any other expenses until we can hopefully apply for a visa to a different country from Egypt.

The GoFundMe page’s transaction fee is 2.9% + £0.25 deducted automatically from each donation. This adds a total of £3000 at least. The total to evacuate all my family is a minimum of £80,000 , and I am asking for your help covering at least £60,000. The situation in Gaza remains uncertain, terrifying, and dangerous. Your support means the world to my family and me. My promise is: if the war is put to an end or evacuation becomes impossible or unpractical for any or some or all family members for any reason, all your funds will go to support my family to live a dignified life.
