Help Evacuate Khaled’s Family Out Of Gaza War

My name is Akkad Ajam. I'm a US citizen organizing this fundraiser to help save this family from occupation. I’m asking you to help save the couple Khaled Ahmed and Fatma Khaled and their newborn baby! They are currently in a tent near the Egypt and south Gaza border, fearing for their lives. Fearing for the life of their baby boy. Fearing that all of their hard work becoming successful will be in vain. The occupation already destroyed their homes and their Job. Let’s not allow them to hurt this family any further!!! Please help me to help them. Please look into your heart, even a small donation could save a life.

The funds will be used to evacuate this family from southern Gaza to Egypt. Khaled and his family are currently displaced and they are suffering from various effects of the war including homelessness, sickness, lack of medicine, limited food, and much more in a camp located in the southern part of Gaza, Rafah. Khaled's family needs our help to evacuate Gaza to Egypt, please assist us in getting this family to safety, including their one-year-old son, by donating as much as you can, and by also sharing this fundraiser with your friends, family, and your social media platforms.

"About myself:

I am Khaled Abu Ishaq, a member of the medical staff here in Gaza. I finished my university studies in October 2023. I have worked as a volunteer from the beginning of the war until this moment and have never left hospitals, at the European Gaza Hospital in Rafah, in a complex displacement process that contains many memories of pain and suffering that no human being can imagine.

Since the beginning of the war, I have devoted myself to volunteering in hospitals non-stop and for nothing. Through these words, I would like to introduce myself to those who do not know me, and to express my deep belief in the importance of humanitarian action in light of the difficult circumstances in which we live."

Displacement and its difficulties:

"Since the beginning of the war, from day one, we have had to leave our border village due to difficult circumstances. We fled the village of Bani Suhaila to the shelters in our town, leaving behind many memories. We didn’t know we wouldn’t be able to go home. A few days later, we also had to flee again to Khan Younis and then to Rafah, and each displacement carried a lot of suffering and oppression inside. Believe me, I can't describe it because you never felt a day when you don't know what's coming to you and what step you should take next time because this step may cost you the life of a whole family, because you will decide where to run away and look for a safe place..

I have a little family consisting of myself, my wife Fatma Abu Saqr, and my one-year-old baby Ahmed. Currently, we are desperately in need of your help in evacuating to Egypt.

Fatma and I worked so hard to build our little family in Gaza, and all we worked so hard for has now been destroyed. We had so many dreams and hopes for our little Ahmed, who is just a one-year-old baby, all our hopes for him in Gaza have also been destroyed. We used to live in a neighborhood in central Gaza called Bani Suhaila, Khan Younis, where we had managed to build a small house that later became a warzone and subject to constant bombing by the occupation forces, forcing us to flee to Rafah finally. I was a graduate nurse while my wife worked as computer engineer. I worked in a store for a daily wage and my wife worked in the field of remote programming and we supported each other. Because of the war, we lost our home in which our laptop for work was also bombed, my wife lost her job and everything we owned. All the money we saved was spent on getting a tent, baby supplies, and some canned food to satisfy our hunger.

I graduated on the 6th of October Then the damned war began in the morning and I began volunteering at the European Gaza Hospital without receiving any salary. I just wanted to provide service to my people for free."

"We were displaced approximately eight times, first to a house belonging to our relatives, then to a shelter center, a school belonging to UNRWA, to Nasser Hospital in Khan Yunis, to a woman's house named Hayat, then to my friend’s house in Rafah, and finally to the camp. We had to evacuate every single one of these places as a result of either a bombing we managed to survive, or the fliers usually air dropped to us by the occupation forces telling us to evacuate to another 'safe zone'.

Currently, my family lives in a tent in Rafah – which was called a safe zone by the occupation forces but is currently being bombarded– and are trying to get to Egypt in order to escape the incessant bombardments of the ‘safe zone’".

"Every day I wake up in the camp, it's the same situation but much worse, more Gazans are killed and the death toll continues to increase, there's no words to describe how I feel having to live through this, especially for my Little son Ahmed. He's having to grow up in a warzone and being transferred from location to location in order to escape danger. Many nights I do not even sleep because I am unable to, and Ahmed is also usually woken up screaming in the middle of the night by the sound of the consistent bombings. I wish I could sleep one night without the nightmares of my child. He wakes up in the middle of the night and starts screaming in fear of the sound of warplanes.

Recently, Ahmed celebrated his one-year-old birthday in Tar-al-Sultan camp in Rafah. Ahmed did not eat well for two months, and he suffered from gastroenteritis and fever in the tent. I fear he's going to starve. Additionally, I don't have access to what my baby needs like food, diapers, and proper blankets because of the cold, there's very little aid and the prices of very few available commodities have skyrocketed since the beginning of the war making it nearly impossible for Gazans to afford literally anything. We're lucky if we get to eat one meal in a day."

Khaled's Reason for wanting to leave Gaza:

"I will never forget the night we were forced to flee. My family and I were displaced, but in a house in our area, my husband’s uncle’s house next to me was also bombed. My house was damaged and I was hit, my little child and I, by the grace of God were miraculously saved. The next Monday, a belt of fire once again struck the area in which we were displaced. That night, everywhere echoed with the screams for martyrs and people under the rubble. We were blessed once again and we miraculously survived.

We were displaced to more than one place in central Khan Yunis, to the hospital, to schools, and finally to Rafah, in a cold tent, without a bathroom, without light, without firewood, water, or any food. A few days ago, the occupation forces carried out an airdrop and random bombings in Rafah. We are not safe.

My wife and I have lived through multiple wars in Gaza as a result of the occupation, but this time, our only child is having to experience another extreme genocide of Palestinians. We have escaped death so many times, it even got to a point where we thought our time was coming and we couldn't survive this. Now, I have renewed hope. All I want is for my family to survive, all I want is to see my son grow up like a normal child. I want to see my family happy and safe. I want my child to grow up, eat well, go to school, and have ambitions in life. I want my family in one piece.

Gaza is my heart, I wish Gaza was free, and I hope that one day, we will be free. It hurts a lot to have to leave my beloved Gaza, where I was born and raised, it hurts to see Gaza being destroyed and turned into rubble, it hurts to see innocent Gazan families live through hunger, death, and the loss of their loved ones. I'm beyond lucky to still have my family in one piece, that is all I want, I am afraid to lose what is dear to me. My family has to evacuate Gaza and we need your help. We are freezing in the cold, there is no food, no jackets, no milk for my baby and no adequate blankets. We are developing different types of sicknesses and there is no medical treatment because the hospitals are overwhelmed, some bombed, and there are no spaces available."

"Many have sold cars and other valuables in order to get money to evacuate and unfortunately, we don't have the same, we felt so hopeless, and alone until we met friends who are currently helping us fundraise, before coming in contact, our family had no hope for survival, but now, we do, and we're hoping on you all, the global community, to come to our aid and help save my family.

The occupation forces are now invading Rafah which they told us to evacuate to, they are bombing different parts of Rafah and also carrying out an invasion. They are close and we fear they will reach us soon. Please help us survive this and evacuate Gaza to Egypt. No matter how little it is, please do not hesitate to donate to help us. How your donations will help save the lives of Khaled's family:

For a Gazan to enter Egypt, they need to coordinate with the Egyptian authorities through an office in Gaza and pay a fee for a permit.

In winter (when there’s no war) it was approximately $200.

In summer (when there’s no war) it was approximately $500

And now, in the war, it’s $5000.

All per person, all in USD.

Cost breakdown:

The Egyptian authorities are charging $5000 per person for a Rafah crossing permit, there are a total of 3 members in my family, my husband, my son, and I, in total, it'll cost approximately $15,000 that'll be charged.

It is estimated that GoFundMe will deduct $1000-$2000 from the donations raised.
