Help Evan, Jennifer, and Eleanor after the Eaton fire
Donation protected
In November 2019, our brother (Evan Mather), sister-in-law (Jennifer Salazar), and niece (Eleanor Mather) moved into their forever home in Altadena, California. Tragically, they lost their beloved home in the Eaton Fire, which raged through the Los Angeles area in January 2025.
Evan and Jennifer had just ten minutes to pack up, forcing them to leave behind nearly everything they owned. Eleanor, who was at her dorm at UCLA, had no opportunity to retrieve any of her belongings. While we are incredibly grateful that they are safe and currently staying with Jennifer's dad, the reality remains—everything they had built and cherished is gone.
Living on the other side of the country, in Louisiana and Virginia, we feel helpless watching our family go through this devastating ordeal. We know many of you—friends, family, and community members—share our desire to support them during this difficult time.
We have set up this GoFundMe to help Evan, Jennifer, and Eleanor as they start over. The funds raised will go directly to them to assist with replacing essential items. As the organizers, we will withdraw the funds and send them directly to Evan and Jennifer via bank transfer to ensure they receive help as quickly as possible.
Thank you for any contribution you can make, whether large or small. Your generosity, kindness, and love mean the world to them.
It's hard to live on the other side of the country when your family members are experiencing such a terrible ordeal. We feel helpless and want to do whatever we can to help. We know so many family and friends feel the same.
