Help Everett Get Back on the Football Field
Donation protected
When Everett was 12 years old he was simply in a park playing basketball with his 3 brothers in Chandler Arizona. They were about to head home for the night. Three guys in hoodies approached the brothers and asked them where they were from. Everett, thinking they wanted to play basketball with him turned back and headed towards them. The next thing he noticed, all three pulled out guns and opened fire on him. Everett took multiple bullets to his legs with the worst being the one that hit his femoral artery. Fighting for his life at 12 years old the doctors decided the only way to save Everett was to take his foot.
This young boy's dream was to play in the NFL one day. Since then, Everett has been determined to not let this slow him down, he is now 16 and plays football for the Perry High School junior varsity team. This young man is exceptional and so caring and determined. Never complaining, he just gets out there and does what he does so that he feels “normal”.
Last Thursday night (10/24) at a home foot ball game, while he was blocking one of the other team's linemen, Everett's prosthetic broke and is not repairable. We just found out his family is without insurance until December and unable to afford the medical care needed to get him back on the field to finish this season with his team and still be able to be “normal”. Please help us help him and his family.
