Help ex49er Jasen Isom and Family with med bills

This campaign is to assist my good friend and gridiron brother, Jasen Isom, who is currently fighting a rapid decline in memory, motor functions, and various neurodegenerative symptoms associated with concussions and repetitive hits from his time playing football in the NFL.

Jasen's rise to playing for the 49ers conquered insurmountable odds, having him being cut 3 times before finally making the squad culminating with a 3-year stint with the team and a starting role in the 2003-2004 Divisional Playoff Season.

At 234 lbs of muscle, he was the epitome of the power fullback, but sadly now he struggles to stand up without assistance and is required to use a walker, due to muscle tremors and neural issues doctors are still trying to understand.

Jasen's career was cut short by injuries and due to his current condition he is unable to work and needs continual monitoring and care. His wife, Jessica, is a nurse but cannot leave the home for employment because of his condition, so their family was dependent on his disability payments. He has filings for other claims which are currently held up in the courts with no timetable for a decision.

This month the Isom family found out that his payments were inexplicably cut in half without notice or explanation. This reduction is effective April 1st and is leaving their family far below their needs for even basic necessities let alone his medical treatment and care. The fund is an effort to raise the amount to bridge the funds that were cut until an appeal can be made or payment restored.

This GoFundMe could have fallen under almost every category because the crisis is so extensive and the situation so urgent. Having grown up in the Bay Area and a 49er fan myself I know the '49er Faithful' and football community are diehard fans with hearts of gold who know and respect their history and the players who made it. Please consider this campaign whether you are a friend, ex-teammate, fan, or compassionate person to help Jasen and his family be relieved of the financial stressors so he can focus on his care and recovery.
