Hello,I am deaf
my name is Unisa JoePower Kamara and I am Deaf. I was born and raised in Sierra Leone, West Africa. It is very small country. In specific, I used to love playing football during my youth. In my time, Sierra Leone government neglected and never gave money to me and my deaf football team. When the Sierra Leone hearing football team donated their old uniforms to us. My deaf football team and I had struggles, yet we did practice playing football. I fought hard to accomplish my deaf football team by teaching, leading, and playing together, despite this small developing country. Until my wife brought me to the United States of America and got married. I have two kids with my wife. I managed to find a decent job and have been striving to make my ends meet financially.
Yet, I never forget my deaf football team in my native country. In Sierra Leone, my former deaf former players and now young deaf men never forget me. They put big hope in me and my amazing leadership skills. They determined to elect me as their president of this Sierra Leone Deaf Football Association (SLDFA), which I founded in 2003. All of us have been in touch for eight years now. I represent a big hope, inspiration, determination, and strength that they desperately look up to. To make their dreams in reality, I am their big support and even their financial sponsor. Yet, one big problem is that Sierra Leone is one of the developing countries in Africa. The Sierra Leone government had been changed and hasn't recognizing my SLDFA since my departure to the U.S.A. I strive supporting them financially, but I have my own family to take care of and essential bills and house to pay on time manageably. I have a lot of financial responsibilities in the United States of America plus my SLDFA to run remotely. My Sierra Leone Deaf football team was finally chosen to be a part of the West Africa Deaf Football tournament. My wife and I sponsored them and sent money to them for transportation and food expenses. They were joyous to go and play against them last year in August 2023. In the end, they won in the second place against the Mali Deaf football team. My wife and I cheered them on and gave them my football strategies how to defeat them remotely. It was such a great joy for them to feel so victorious for Sierra Leone in the second place.
- Now, I'm eternally grateful that there is another great opportunity appearing. The Deaf International Football Association just recognized my SLDFA. I need your donation to fundraise money, because We presently very busy trying to get government support for our participation in the 2nd African Deaf Championship billed for November in Marrakech Morocco. Meanwhile, we are to play preliminary matches on the provinces in order to select the best players we are to take to Morocco. Government has approved for us to go to the provinces to play football with the teams there. We asking for your donate these people don't have 18 passport books . Cost one passport $150 in 18 passport books in Sierra Leone As Sierra Leone National association of Deaf , the main problem for now is getting an office space. We submitted many proposals for the celebration of the International Deaf Week. We are yet to receive confirmation from the donors. Honestly, it's pretty difficult to get funding these days. But we still hope to God. We really appreciate it so your donate
I pray and hope that my story touches your hearts to help support my SLDFA and SLNDA with your blessing donations for their future and dreams to achieve in next young generations for Sierra Leone! I believe that your donations count each blessing! Thank you very much for your kindness and compassion!https://youtube.com/shorts/iFX4VajhQcE?si=6UdOd63s_kMhuaVe
