Help Ezra Get Gender-Confirming Surgery

Hello, I'm Ezra (they/them/theirs), an LGBTQ+ indie author and cat-parent, and I'm putting together this GoFundMe to get gender-confirming top surgery.

Since I developed them, my breasts have been a source of mental, emotional, and physical hardship for me. Over the years, they've increased in size rapidly due to the medication I'm on and my genetics, and now I'm at around 40H (probably a size or so larger too, to be honest). Needless to say, my back and shoulder pain are always sitting at a 6-8 on a 1-10 scale (10 being the highest), and I've suffered from a generalized prickling numbness in terms of sensation from the literal weight on my chest. It's legitimately painful to exercise with my breasts yanking down on me, and that's just some of the physical issues. The dysphoria has been absolutely terrible since I started to learn more about myself and physically develop into an adult and there's not a time when I see my breasts that I don't feel like weeping because they're wrong for me.

The first cost would be the surgery itself, which in Chicago is around $6-16K USD with/without insurance (the general consensus is that the price is around $10K USD but things like body type and how much breast tissue I have would affect that). I do have health insurance through my day job, so that should help with costs, but I won't know until I have an appointment/consultation with a surgeon.

So, the things that I'd need help with funding are:

I have a day job with gracious sick leave and low impact in terms of physical stress on my body, but the pay isn't enough to afford all this by myself.
