help ezzy move into the community he deserves

Donation protected
hi, it’s trudi- back story: altho ezzy and i are infinitely grateful to have the home we have been blessed with, there are many disadvantages to raising ezra here. there is nowhere safe to play outdoors, there are only roads and alleyways, no trees or play areas. there are just three other children living in this building of 220+ units. there is a notorious drug presence here, and it is very noticeable. the neighbor across the hall chain smokes cigarettes and we get plenty of second hand smoke as a result. lastly, there is the issue of always having to be on the defense to avoid sharing the neighbor’s pest infestation, evidence of which is often visible in the interior hallway.
…at the behest of our apartment manager, i applied to be waitlisted for a family housing community. we have been offered a two bedroom unit in a family complex that was just completed, (construction just wrapped), this march. not only will ezra have children to play with and an on-site playground, the property is surrounded by protected greenbelt. it’s everything i’ve wished for him since he was born- trees, other kids, space to play outdoors… i have to sign the lease today, and i’m thrilled, But we have no way to afford moving expenses, which would include obtaining moving boxes, hiring movers at an average of $125/hr plus truck fee averaging $80, and a $300 deposit. as of now, i have no way to get our possessions from capitol hill to delridge, no transportation to obtain moving boxes, (or extra money from our budget to pay a friend gas money to help), and altho the deposit could likely be divided into three installments, (details will be finalized later today), it will definitely create a financial hardship. to add to the Pinch and the Stress, ezra’s 6th birthday is on august 1st, leaving july as the only opportunity i have (or had) to afford to celebrate it with him or get him anything.
this move was not planned. the waitlist was projected to be 2-5 years, but i received a phone call last friday afternoon telling me to be prepared to sign a lease the following monday, (today), or decline the unit. this move is such an incredible opportunity for ezra to thrive snd finally be allowed to live and play outside(!) with other children(!) in an area with trees(!), like a child should; all things he’s been unable to experience so far, isolated from kids his age and surrounded by traffic and concrete. i am thinking that a family community is far less likely to have the intense drug traffic that this building does, and the property is sparking clean and brand new. please help realize this dream come true for us. your contribution will allow for moving costs, (supplies, labor, and transport), and deposit. i hope to be able to celebrate ezra’s birthday, in spite of the abruptness of this relocation offer and subsequent expenses. thank you for taking your time to read this and for your kindness. if you can’t contribute, please keep our transition in your mind, walk with us, surround us with positive and protective energy.
be well.
