Help Fadi's family evacuate Gaza to safety

A message from Chloe:

“Hello, My name is Chloe Sutton & I am a personal trainer currently living in Newcastle, Australia who is trying to help my friend Fadi Aldeeb - a Palestinian wheelchair basketball athlete & Paralympian to evacuate his family from Gaza.

I am collecting donations for Fadi’s family to escape the war.”

Fadi is a 40 year old wheelchair basketball athlete for Palestine. He became paralysed on Oct 4th 2001 from being shot in the spine by an Israeli sniper at the age of 23. Fadi currently lives in Paris, France as a wheelchair athlete coach and player. He is a paralympian with gold medals in Discus (2021), bronze medal in shot put (2008) Masters Games China in 2009) & six international medals and is currently awaiting Refugee status in France.

This Go fund me is to support his family to evacuate to safety and rebuild their family home.

His family lived in the east of Gaza strip - in the Shejaia neighbourhood until the bombing starting in Oct 2023. His brother - Ala passed away within the family home after it was bombed in Oct 2023 & they have yet to retrieve his body from the rubble.

Their entire extended family lived within the 6 floor story apartment block with their partners and children. Their entire apartment block was destroyed by boming.

His family consists of his mother Sahar, his father Gamel, Younger siblings Shadi (38), Inas (36), Mojad (35) and their children & partners

Fadi wants to use the money from donations to help his family evacuate Gaza and find safety, and once it is safe to return to his hometown to rebuild their homes and life.

Before the war, Fadi worked as a professional athlete and basketball coach for children also in wheelchairs in Paris. He hopes when the war is over to return to Gaza to help those affected with paralysis, injury & amputation to help them learn how to use wheelchairs for life and for sport - for social inclusion and use his expertise in sport (as a paralympian) to help his country of Palestine.

His children - 10 year old Dima and 7.5 year old twins - Majed and Cilen have currently evacuated to turkey with their mother.

Fadi & His Team -

After his family home was destroyed, Fadi’s family fled south. They are sheltering in a tent in the streets of Rafah near the Egyptian border. However due to the constant bombing they have been displaced multiple times and have to move around frequently.
