Help Fadi's Family Rebuild Their Life Amidst Crisis

Hello, my name is Richard Warren. I am a friend of Fadi Alshrafi and live in the United States. This is Fadi's new fundraiser that I am starting, with his permission and on his behalf. Here is Fadi's story:

I am 26 years old and was born in the Gaza Strip. Me and my family have endured tremendous hardships over the past 7 months due to the war and have lost everything, including all the necessary documents like passports, in order to travel to Egypt. With the support of kind people like you, I was able to raise the funds to evacuate form north Gaza to Turkey in March of this year. I live in Turkey and was visiting Gaza when the war broke out. I was the first in my family to leave so I could secure the funds needed to get the rest of my family out.

The goal of this campaign is to raise the funds for my family once they make it to Egypt. Currently my family is in North Gaza and the only way they can leave is through the border in South Gaza. It's incredibly dangerous for them to travel there right now. We are waiting for a safe route to Rafah and then I will place their names on the list to get out.

The goal for my last campaign was $85,000.00 and here is a breakdown of how the funds that were raised in my previous campaign are being used:

Bank Transfer Fees: $500.00

My evacuation from Gaza to Turkey: $10,000.00

Total spent so far: $14,500.00

Remaining amount: $76,000.00

The remaining funds will be used for the evacuation of my 9 family members.

Here is the breakdown of those fees:

Evacuation Fees approximately $8,000.00/person

Palestinian Passport cost: $250.00/person totalling $2250.00

Transportation from the Rafah crossing/paperwork processing fees/food: $300.00/person

I will send updates to this campaign when my family is able to get to south gaza and when they are able to evacuate. I hope this will happen soon.

My family consists of my mother, father, 4 brothers, 1 sister, and 2 sisters-in-law, one of which is pregnant and due in July. They are currently living in a make do displacement center, except for one of my sisters-in-law that is separated from us and in the south of Gaza.

Now that I have the funds for them to evacuate, I need to raise the funds to help them restart their lives and cover basic living expenses like shelter, food, medical care, etc.

1. Apply for Egyptian citizenship for me and my family: $60,000.00 for 10 people.

Me and my family have to start a whole new life and Egyptian citizenship will give us far more right and opportunities to travel and have more opportunities for us to restart our lives.

2. Medical expenses: My father has a heart condition and has not had access to medical care or his medications, which he will need.

Also, my pregnant sister-in-law will need care for her and her baby.

3. Other living expenses like rent, food, etc.
