With a heavy heart, I share the devastating news of a tragedy that struck the Dominican Republic on Tuesday, April 8th. At around 1AM, the ceiling of the Jet Set Nightclub suddenly collapsed during a Rubby Perez concert - instantly claiming the lives of over 200 innocent people who were simply there to enjoy live music. Families are shattered, lives lost, and an entire community is in mourning. This tragedy is very close to my heart as 5 members of my family lost their lives that night.

This unimaginable tragedy has left loved ones facing emotional devastation and now overwhelming financial burdens. Many families are struggling to cover the costs of funerals, wakes, and the mental health care needed to cope with such trauma.

I am reaching out with deep empathy and a strong desire to help. Through this GoFundMe, I hope we can come together to support those affected by this tragedy. Your donation - no matter how small - can help families give their loved ones a dignified farewell, access counseling, and begin to rebuild from this heartbreak.

Con gran pesar, les comparto la devastadora noticia de la tragedia que azotó la República Dominicana el martes 8 de abril. Alrededor de la 1:00 a. m., el techo del club nocturno Jet Set se derrumbó de repente durante un concierto de Rubby Pérez, lo que cobró instantáneamente la vida de más de 200 personas inocentes que simplemente estaban allí para disfrutar de la música en vivo. Hay familias destrozadas, vidas perdidas y una comunidad entera está de luto. Esta tragedia me toca muy de cerca, ya que cinco miembros de mi familia perdieron la vida esa noche.

Esta inimaginable tragedia ha dejado a seres queridos con una devastación emocional y una carga financiera abrumadora. Muchas familias están luchando para cubrir los costos de los funerales, los velorios y la atención de salud mental necesaria para sobrellevar este trauma.

Les escribo con profunda empatía y un fuerte deseo de ayudar. A través de esta campaña de GoFundMe, espero que podamos unirnos para apoyar a los afectados por esta tragedia.
