HELP FAMILIES DEVASTATED BY NORTHERN THAILAND FLOODS

On September 11th, 2024, major flooding hit Chiang Rai, in northern Thailand. This is Art’s home city, and where we had lived as a family up until last year. These were the worst floods in the city’s history.

The floods happened so quickly, and without warning, that people didn’t have time to prepare their houses or possessions. Tens of thousands have been left completely devastated, and with only the clothes they were wearing when they fled the rising waters.

In many areas, flood waters reached to ceiling level. As waters have receded, our friends and loved-ones have returned to find deep mud covering everything they own, leaving them with nothing.

We are raising money to help those in the local Thai community who are starting from scratch. All money donated will go directly to those who need it most, and who are unable to raise money for themselves. Government assistance has not yet been offered, meaning many will not be able to survive or rebuild without help.

The most immediate needs are for food, fresh drinking water, clothes, and medications. As people return to their homes, they will need tools for cleaning. Then the rebuilding will begin. Beds, furniture, vehicles, toys, and bedding will need to be replaced.
