Help family and I after fire leaves us displaced

Hello everyone, my name is Akual Majok. I am making this gofundme on behalf of my mother, brother and I. As some of you may know, on January 29th at 3:15am we woke up from our sleep to a fire occurring at our neighbors home. This fire ended up damaging my brother’s room and left many of our furniture water damaged and everything in our garage completely filled with glass and water on everything. Whenever we spoke to our landlord, they said our home will be finished in 1-2 months, then said up to 4 months, and when we asked where we’ll be able to go if not our home, they said they won’t pay for the hotel until our home is complete and that it’s a problem for us to figure out since we don’t have renter’s insurance. They also want us to move out abruptly leaving all of our furniture and belongings behind, which we aren’t going for. We are good tenants, never got any complaints, caused no problems, and paid our rent on time for the last 4 years. My mother is a single mother of 7 who worked extremely hard through life obstacles to be able to provide a roof over our heads, and once she moved to this home specifically bought all new furniture for each room. We are seeking money to pay for lawyer fees, expenses to fix my brothers room and any other damages, and living costs for the next 4 months. We still don’t have any answers on whether or not we’ll be able to still live in our home ever again or what’s next in this chapter.
