Hamilton Hit and Run Victims
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Louise and I’m fundraising for the family of Robert Alexander Stevenson who was killed January 30/2022 in a hit and run accident along with the family dog Zoey. Robert went by the name Roy, he would go out of his way to help anyone in need and loved to laugh and make others laugh. He had a great sense of humour. He worked as a mechanic at Halton Honda for over 30 years and had recently retired at 70 years old. The family are heartbroken. Unfortunately he won’t be able to enjoy his retirement because that was taken from him the last time he walked his dog. A careless driver hit Roy and his dog, killing them both. That driver failed to remain at the scene leaving them both alone dying in the cold temperature and snow. Four days later Roy’s wife, sons , granddaughters, brothers, friends and neighbours still have no answers, nobody to hold accountable because the person or people responsible for their immeasurable loss has been too cowardly to come forward and make themselves known to police. Today his wife’s birthday will pass without him. The family is grieving their unexpected sudden loss while planning his send off despite having no income for the foreseeable future. I am asking that you please give it thought and contribute to the huge unexpected expense to ease his wife’s burden. Anything at all will help, no matter how small. Let’s get started right now on his wife’s birthday to bring a little light to her day. This is a family who at first refused the idea of GoFundMe because to them it’s like begging. They are not the type of people who are comfortable with taking yet are very giving. I know they will be most appreciative of your contributions to their cause. Put yourselves in their shoes while you consider it, not only was their person abruptly taken from them but so was the family dog Zoey - she was approaching only 3 years of age. Thank you all for your anticipated donations in this sad time of need as the family prepares to say their final goodbyes and learn how to move forward without two of their closest, with immense voids in their heavy hearts.
