Help Family Heal After Daniel's Loss

My name is Nestor Nieves, and this GoFundMe is in the memory of my brother Daniel Nieves who died today, at the age of 29. This GoFundMe is to give my family time to grieve and pay for the funeral. Things will never be the same. We moved to a new house in September 2023 and were planning to start new lives, my brother was going to lose weight and do more things but sadly that dream has not come true.

Danny was a special person; he had the mind of a child in an adult body and always made people around him happy. My brother got really sick during covid and had health issues after that. My mom Josefina has done everything to get him better and taken him to multiple doctors but there were never any answers on why he was having trouble sleeping. He died from acute respiratory distress syndrome in a hospital and had an enlarged heart. He was non-verbal and was not able to speak in full sentences and tell people what his problems are. We all thought we might have missed something, and Danny would be alive, but no-one can see the future and figure out how things play out. He was always the center of attention and brought happiness to all the people that were in his life.

Life now feels empty without him. One thing that came out of this is that we should all strive to be healthy and cherish the time left we have with family because you never know when something will happen. Things will be hard without him in more ways than one. The question is what we do next and how.
