Assalamu Alaikum dearest brothers and sisters,
إِنَّا لِلَّٰهِ وَإِنَّا إِلَيْهِ رَاجِعُونَ
"Verily we belong to Allah, and verily to Him do we return."
It is with great sadness and shock that we share this news. On the evening of the 28th of August 2020, the blessed night of Ashura, our beloved brother Ahmad (Shaheen) Mir returned to Allah Most High after experiencing unexpected heart failure at the early age of 58.
He went to the doctor for a regular check-up and was admitted to the hospital after 3 blocked arteries were discovered. His health deteriorated rapidly after a surgery which was initially thought to be successful. He had a heart attack followed by a brain stroke, sending him into a coma from which he never awakened. He left behind a loving wife and 5 children:
Hafizah Umamah, an undergrad pre-med student.
Hafiz Usama, Who currently has 3 years left to complete his Alim course.
Unaisa, who is in 11th grade as well as continuing her memorization of the Quran.
Usaida, a 9th grade hifz student at the Islamic School of Trenton.
Ubāda, who is in 3rd grade and a hifz student as well.
For over 30 years, Brother Shaheen was a pillar of our community and Masjid As-Saffat in Trenton, NJ. His generosity, kind heart, and cheerful countenance touched countless lives. He did the work of dawah with deep passion. He was one of the founders of the Islamic School of Trenton in 2001 and dedicated himself to it with great love and service for nearly two decades.
The wife and children of Brother (Shaheen) Ahmad Mir would like to thank the community for their love, prayers, and support during this difficult time.
We remind and kindly request that all contributions do not fall under zakaat as they are not zakaat eligible.
May Allah bless those who strive to come to the aid and comfort of their Muslim kindred with the best of both worlds.
May Allah Most High grant our dearest brother, uncle, and father, Shaheen Ahmad, Jannatul-Firdaus, forgive his sins and grant patience and ease to the family. May Allah make his grave a garden of paradise and fill it with light till Qiyaamah. Ameen.
Organized by Amin Mir and Abdullah Awal.
