Help Family Recover from Apartment Fire Damage

My wife Kimberly and I, Scott Braasch, started this Go Fund Me for our friends and God daughter who have recently been struggling from the aftermath of an apartment fire that has left them without a place of their own to live and struggling with day-to-day necessities and money.

Jan 19th, 2023, One of our Cheer Tyme families, was affected by an apartment fire that started in the apartment below theirs. Smoke damage, smell, heat, as well as residual fire damage from the overhaul has left, (Shamica McIntyre and her daughters Ja'Nylia and Ja'Hyra) all long-time members of the Cheer Tyme program, without a place to live or many of their everyday comforts provided by their uninhabitable apartment. We have been told that they will be out of their apartment for 3 months or longer. As they are working with The Red Cross for support, support seems minimal. We wanted to reach out to our friends and family and see if we were able to help a little more. Unfortunately, they will lose many items from their home and need to replace furniture, clothing, cheer apparel, cheer uniforms, as well as some kitchen items, as that is where most of the damage traveled from the floor below. Clothing is being washed and fumigated and hopefully will be salvageable, but if you have ever smelled the contents of a building after a fire you can imagine how hard that smell is to remove from clothing, furniture, and cloth items in general. Every and any amount will help Shamica and her girls make it through these next 3 months as her apartment is being refurbished for their return.
