Help Family-Owned Ruben's Bakery in Compton

At the 2:30 am on Tuesday, January 2nd, Ruben's Bakery & Mexican Food, located on N. Santa Fe Avenue in Compton, CA, was ransacked by a mob of people participating in a nearby street takeover, resulting in tens of thousands of dollars of loss. The damage was extensive and devastating - from the security gate and the walls that were knocked down to the merchandise and store equipment that was robbed. This couldn't have come at a worse time as the owners continue to work hard to recover economically from the COVID-19 Pandemic and during a peak season for their business.

The Ramirez Family is asking for your support to help get the business back on their feet as soon as possible, as they have established deep roots in the community over the last 48 years. Every day closed is resulting in the loss of thousands of dollars of revenue, a financial hit that the family cannot afford to endure for too long. In addition, the impact is going to hurt all their employees, who are without work until the rebuild process is completed.
