Help Farah From Gaza Secure Her Gluten-Free Food

Farah is an 11-year-old little girl from Gaza. She was diagnosed with celiac disease at the age of 5. Ever since Farah has amazed us and was excited to begin her journey towards a healthy life.
However, when the war began, everything changed dramatically. The borders closed and only the necessary food was allowed into the strip thus Farah’s suffering had started.
The money would be distributed based on Farah's needs of food. We have estimated an amount of $2.5k to meet her needs of food, including Milk, eggs, vegetables, fruits, rice and corn flour.
- 1K of corn flour costs $150 and the price is increasing because it's locally made and sometimes it is imported from outside Gaza. Farah needs 5 kilos a week.
- 1k of gluten-free rice costs around $50. A 1 kilo makes 3 meals for Farah; thus she needs around 4 kilos a month.
- 1k of gluten-free cheese costs $70.
- 1L of gluten-free oil costs $65.
- Vegetables and fruits.
- Fresh meet. 500g costs $115.
All of the above-mentioned foods are necessary for Farah and helps promote her physical and mental health.
The gluten-free food was always imported from outside Gaza, including corn flour, pasta, rice, chocolate, snacks, juice, and many other products that made Farah’s life as normal as possible!
Since last October, no products have been delivered to the strip due to the closure of borders, and only essential food was allowed which is not gluten-free. That is how we started looking for food that doesn’t kill Farah.
The only things Farah can eat at the moment are rice, vegetables, and fruits.
But even if these things are available, they are extremely expensive. Another thing is that Farah can’t eat with the same kitchen utensils because of fear of cross-contamination; making it more harder to cope with this since Farah and her family share only one kitchen in the same tent!

- سعر لتر واحد من الزيت الخالي من الغلوتين هو 65 دولارًا.
- تصل اسعار الخضار والفواكه الى 115 دولارًا.
جميع الأطعمة المذكورة أعلاه ضرورية لفرح وتساعد على تعزيز صحتها الجسدية والعقلية.
كان الطعام الخالي من الغلوتين يتم استيراده دائمًا من خارج غزة، بما في ذلك دقيق الذرة،
والمعكرونة، والأرز، والشوكولاتة، والوجبات الخفيفة، والعصير، والعديد من المنتجات الأخرى التي جعلت حياة فرح قريبة من الطبيعية قدر الإمكان!
