Help Forrest Foster Buy a New Used Truck!
Donation protected
Forrest Foster has been a dairy farmer for almost 50 years, but this Fall he was forced to sell his cows. The insurance company says his ancient barn no longer insurable, and when they cancelled his policy he also lost the product liability insurance he needs in order to ship milk.
Forrest's milk license is good for another year, and in that time he hopes to take down the barn and erect a smaller one that will be insurable. In the meantime, he needs to support himself. He has always supplemented his income by selling firewood, but the ton dump truck he uses -- a rusting old Ford -- is no longer roadworthy. His friends have started this GoFundMe site to raise enough funds for a decent used ton truck. New dump trucks are around $75,000 or more, but Forrest would be happy with a used one, and we're hoping to raise $15,000 towards that end. Once the goal has been met and Forrest has decided on a truck to purchase, all the proceeds of the fundraiser will be transferred to Forrest's account. Any funds left over will be used for the rehabilitation of Forrest's barn.
This fundraiser is being organized by Steven Gorelick, a friend of Forrest's for the past 25 years, and Erica Heilman, who has featured Forrest a number of times on her Rumble Strip podcast.
