Hello everyone!! I’m starting this fundraiser for one of the most wonderful people I’ve ever known. They say these things always seem to happen to the people who least deserve it, and man isn’t that true. Farrah certainly has a lot on the road ahead of her, but if we can all come together to make it just a bit easier, that would be amazingly appreciated! I’ll continue to post Farrah’s updates along her journey as well. Here’s Farrah’s story so far:
May 23rd 2023:
Three words. One week ago, my entire life was changed in a single moment by three little words: "We found cancer." Tuesday, May 16th at 2:58 pm, I received a phone call that turned my entire world upside down. My pathology report had come back from a medical procedure I had done on May 5th. The diagnosis was small cell neuroendocrine carcinoma of the cervix. It is a very rare cancer, with only about 100 cases diagnosed per year in the US. It is very aggressive, metastatic, has a high recurrence rate, and unfortunately has a poor prognosis in most cases. I see the oncologist tomorrow, and still have to have some diagnostic scans to assess what stage I am in. I've already looked into which hospitals and cancer centers are experienced with this rare disease. I know that it is likely that I have a long battle ahead of me, but anyone who knows me, knows how stubborn I am. I'm not going down without a fight. I'm determined to beat the odds. I will probably be documenting a good portion of my journey on social media in order to bring awareness to this rare form of cancer and hopefully help bring in much needed funding for research on how to treat it.
So let’s get together and beat this thing!!!
