Help Fathan Fight Stage IV Rectal Cancer
Dear friends,
I am starting this fundraiser for my best friend of 40 years. My shining light. A beautiful, talented, kind-hearted soul.
A year and a half ago (Mar 2020), Fathan was diagnosed with Stage IV rectal cancer, (Andiocarcinoma). She is being treated by Oklahoma Cancer Specialists and Research Institute in Tulsa. She has had radiation and chemotherapy and then a six month break. The cancer is growing again in several places in her liver and one in her lung. She is resuming chemotherapy for another 3 months. Another CT scan will determine if she still needs additional chemo treatments. The first round worked really well. We’re hoping this next round will be just as successful.
She has had to stop working at her job at Apria Healthcare of 21 years because of significant neuropathy in her feet, toes, legs, fingers and hands. She is receiving treatment for the neuropathy by having shots between her toes and fingers and then stimulated by tens-like machines.
She is “fighting-the-fight.” And God continues to bless her in many ways. She has been approved for disability (with a 5-month waiting period) and she’s also been approved for Medicare (2-YEAR waiting period.)
Needless to say, it’s a daily grind with appointments and chemo and labs and CT scans, neuropathy treatments, pain management, etc.
She is willing to go through all of this to help prolong her life and to be around for her 80-year old mother who is the sweetest, kindest person you would ever know.
Finances are being strangled and monetary relief would truly help in this, her greatest struggle. Let’s help keep Fathan in her home that she loves so much. The mounting bills, (already over $30K) is something she shouldn’t have to stress over when she is already inundated with appointments and treatments, etc.
Again, thank you for taking the time to read about this fundraiser for Fathan. And if nothing else, a prayer would mean everything.
Many blessings to you and yours.
