Help Faye Cover Caregiver Costs!

Hi everyone, back with another update. On the edge of my seat waiting to hear if I'm approved for a state program. But rent for July is due and of course the high cost of caregivers goes on. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Hi, my name is Faye Stedman. Some of you know my story. For those who do not, I am a 62 yr. old woman living with multiple sclerosis. I was diagnosed in 2001. Things changed substantially when I lost my ability to walk or stand in 2019. Since then I have had to depend on caregivers for most of my basic needs; move me from bed to power chair and back each day, assist with basic hygiene, and ensure that my medical needs are met. I have no complaints. Life is beautiful and full, and I am ridiculously blessed with wonderful friends who support and encourage. The most difficult aspect of life is paying for it all. The costs have been and currently are all out of pocket and, after 3½ years of tapping my well to cover caregivers plus supplies, it has finally run dry. I am one of the many that falls between the cracks when it comes to most assistance programs. I make too much from Social Security disability to get help with prescriptions and food stamps and household expenses, but not nearly enough to cover everything. I am currently pursuing all of the resources available to me from Howard County and the state of Maryland. I also applied for a grant from the MS Foundation, which would cover expenses on a temporary basis. I am looking for additional grants as well. Unfortunately, bureaucracy moves slowly. In the meantime, in order to stay out of a nursing home and cover the several thousand dollars due monthly, I am asking if you will partner with me to help offset costs.
