Help Fayra kick Cancer's butt!

Hi everyone,

As some of you know, one of the dearest mamas and friends in our community is currently battling Cancer.

Fayra is a single mother and the sole provider and caretaker for her amazing daughter Khloe. As I am sure all of us can understand, Fayra's biggest fear is not being able to provide for KK adequately while she is focused on her health and healing.

I hope that, as a community, we can wrap around her during this time so that she can focus on her health and healing while knowing that KK has everything she needs!

Fayra first went to the doctor on August 3, 2022, after feeling what she initially thought was a swollen gland in her throat and about a month later, was diagnosed with stage 3 metastatic neck cancer.

Since then, her cancer has progressed quite quickly and while her symptoms have increased daily, she still has not received any treatment.

Now, 4 months post-diagnosis, she has finally received a surgery date!

Because of how young she is, how rapidly it is spreading, and how severe the consequences will be if it comes back, they are recommending going in aggressively the first time. So on December 1st she will be going into the hospital and will be there for at least a week.

Over the last 4 months, while she has waited for news, the mass in her neck has grown so significantly that she has now been told she may lose some or all of her ear, lose some of her jaw, some nerve function in her face and neck and may require significant skin grafting.

While the initial hospital stay may only be one week, her recovery will be extensive. After working for over 20 years as a nurse, caring day in and day out for everyone else in their time of need, Fayra now needs us to care for her.
