Help Feed & House Moataz and Hoda!

Donation protected
My name is Motaz, and my wife is Huda. We got married only three months before the war. We dreamed, like any family, of building our own nice little family. We worked 24/7 to paint our house with bright colours and decorations, and make it a home.

Suddenly, it was all gone, in a flash - We saw the flame of fire above our heads. We spent tens of kilometers walking until we found a wall that sheltered us from the cold of winter at that time. That was our first displacement. Now, we are writing the story of our fourth displacement, and we have since lost everything. We have lost our happiness, our warm home, and our world. It is gone.

Pink light filters in through the tarp on the far side of the wall. Several repairs have also been made to keep it as watertight as possible.]

The hot summer sand and dirty insects have become our companion, and diseases spread everywhere without any hope of mercy. You must know that while the cost of living has exceeded, there is complete absence of a secure income.
Unfortunately, things have completely changed, and we are now without any viable water. We dream of crossing the wall of life to live like others - a happy life, awaiting our first baby like any family in this world. We dream of seeing our newborn in front of us growing in a very healthy environment - not in the life of war...

[Image Description: Malik's grave. Above a carefully rounded mound of sand sits a cinder block, salvaged from rubble that serves as his gravestone. The sun shines on it brightly. Someone's sandals sit just out of view.]

Unfortunately, after nine months of pregnancy, Huda and I have lost our first baby due to malnutrition - and the war. My wife stayed a whole week in the hospital after giving birth to Malik due to blood poisoning, so doctors decided to transfer blood to her. I’m afraid of losing my beloved wife and family members, too. If you can, please help me get money to be able to build a safe and clean place for my little family and start again from scratch.

Afternote from the campaign runner: Hello there! My name is Adam, and I'm running this campaign for Moataz. I met him after his brother (and my wonderful friend!) Alami, introduced him to me. Moataz is an incredibly sweet and loving guy, and he is having a very hard time staying hopeful, after the loss of his little boy, Malik, just two days ago, on January 28th. It is so crushing to see such a wonderful person go through such an awful loss, on top of the torture of surviving in current day Gaza. The suffering has not stopped after the introduction of the ceasefire. If you could spare him even the price of a bag of chips, a coffee, something you might buy to take care of yourself or friend in need, please, do it. It will mean the world to both of us, and give him the hope he needs to survive. The world needs more wonderful people like Moataz, Huda and Alami, and we can help keep them alive during this time. Let's do this together. <3
