$1 Per Meal Helps Feed Keiki During Covid Crisis
Tax deductible
Help Feed Hungry Keiki during COVID19 Crisiis
We can make healthy breakfasts and lunches for $1 per meal.
For $50, we can feed 50 children. For $100 we can feed 100, For $1000 we can feed 1000.
We need to raise $40,000 to make 40,000 meals in the next month for Oahu's hungriest children.
Kahumana Kitchen is partnering with Waianae Comprehensive Health Center, Food Bank, Aloha Harvest and Chef Hui to make and deliver 40,000 meals in the next month.
These meals will be delivered to Elementary Schools and Homeless Shelters and Housing in Waianae that do not have their own cafeterias, such as:
Leihoku Elementary
Ohana Ola Transitional Housing
Kauhale Kamaile Affordable Rentals
Waianae Elementary
The actual cost of a meal is $4.50
-Kahumana is donating all management and overhead costs including the use of its commercial kitchen. That's worth about $1.50 per meal.
-Direct Labor that makes the meals is all volunteer or donated labor. That's also worth about $1.50 per meal.
-1/3 of the food ingredients are donated. That's worth .50 per meal.
So, $3.50 of the $4.50 is already donated. But we have a One Buck Gap.
The final $1 per meal, we are asking from you. Your contribution is greatly appreciated! Please donate what you can. Every buck counts!
The nonprofit Kahumana Kitchen is organizing this fundraiser on behalf of its parent 501(c)3 Alternative Structures International, a Hawaii 501(c)3 since 1974. We run programs using the name Kahumana
- Kahumana Organic Farm, Cafe and Kitchen
