Help Feed Our Youth, Families in COVID-19 Pandemic
Tax deductible
Boys & Girls Clubs of the Capital Area needs your support to help feed our children and families. Your contribution of only $20.00 will provide someone in need with breakfast and lunch for a week.
The COVID-19 pandemic has brought uncertainty and disruption to the communities that we serve. In accordance with New York State policy for school closures, our school-based sites where 1,100 children receive daily hot, nutritional meals are currently closed. However, our top priority has not changed: the health and safety of the children who need us most.
To continue serving the needs of our community, the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Capital Area is utilizing our commercial kitchen to create a mobile meal service which now provides 1,700 breakfasts and lunches to 11 key housing sites in Albany and Rensselaer County. To meet the operational costs for this critical service, our organization is currently using our limited financial reserves. Proper funding could allow us the ability to produce 3,000 meals per day and serve more members of the community who need us most.
We’re calling out to our community superheroes to invest in our cause. Every donation helps, no matter how small. Together, we have the ability to ensure that nobody goes without the nutrition needed to grow and maintain healthy immune systems.
All funds collected will be used to provide meals for families in need, and to meet all operational costs for this critical service.
