Help feed your neighbours in need

UPDATE:
We have, because of your incredible generosity, reached our original funding goal of $10000. We have now increased our goal to $20000 because, while we have secured some funding, we are still always in need, especially as the winter months are here, and encampments are being raided. We continue to thank you for your generous support. We couldn't do it without you.
Royal City Mission had its funding cut in downtown Guelph, which means people are missing out on seven lunches and two dinners they relied on every week. This means that the most vulnerable people in our community, who depend on these meals, often go without. That's where you come in. Your Downtown Guelph Friends is working, with partners, to fill the gap by doubling their service from twice a week to four times a week.
But we can't do it without help from the community. We're looking to raise $10000 which would cover adding 2 additional meals a week for 5 months as we work out more sustainable ways to fund this. We're working with partners, working towards longer term funding models and reaching out far and wide to get sustainable funding.
But the folks who rely on these meals can't wait for all that to happen. They need to know they can count on eating at least one real meal every single day. Your donation will help make that a reality and take the pressure off organizers so they can focus on longer term solutions, and most importantly, getting the meals to those who need them.
Every dollar helps. The more people that donate, the faster we will get to our goal, so don't worry if you don't have much to spare. We know times are tough. But together, we can all make a massive difference in the lives of folks who are struggling to eat everyday.
