Help Fidel and his Mother Recover from House Fire

Dear friends, family, and kind-hearted strangers,

On November 26, 2024, our home with more than 20 years of memories suffered a major

fire. Thankfully no one was seriously injured when it took place, but the road ahead is definitely a challenging one.

Disaster struck while I was at work and my mother was home alone. In an attempt to save money on energy my mother decided to light our fireplace, but it immediately backfired.

The flames grew in intensity so quickly that she was forced to vacate the house and simply watch everything unfold.

The fire destroyed our home and most of our belongings, creating an urgent need for support. My mother and I had always planned on sprucing the house up eventually to host more family gatherings and it saddens me to think this could potentially never happen. It hurts even more to know my father spent his life paying this home off and with him already gone there’s a risk his life’s work will be as well. With no insurance to cover any expenses we are at a complete loss.

My mother and I have also been displaced due to this tragedy. From renting hotel rooms and bouncing in between the homes of family, the absence of stability has been really trying on me and her both.

The donations given will be used on: medical expenses,

temporary housing,

essential living expenses,
