Help Fight For Abby’s Pain Free Life
Please help my dear friend Abby meet a medical financial goal! The funds from this campaign will cover the costs of the neurosurgeon, oncologist, and use of the Levine Center. Please read Abby’s story below to better understand her condition and the impact you can have on her life. Thank you in advance for any and all donations you can give to one of the kindest people I know.
Abby’s Story
Abby has been diagnosed with a condition known as trigeminal neuralgia. She has had this condition since early 2018. Trigeminal neuralgia is a neurological disorder where the trigeminal nerve, which arises from the brainstem, is pressing up against a blood vessel in the brain. Do to this contact, the result is sporadic and triggered episodes of intense and debilitating pain which shoots through the trigeminal nerve. In Abby’s case, the left trigeminal nerve is the one effected. This nerve runs along the left side of the face and into the left eye, the upper and lower jaw. This condition is cited as one of the most excruciating forms of pain known to mankind. For this reason, it is also known as the “suicide disease” because, statistically, 50% of individuals who have trigeminal neuralgia end up committing suicide after two years.
Though there is no cure, thankfully, there is a procedure known as Stereotactic Radio Surgery (SRS) which Abby’s neurosurgeon, Dr. Anthony Asher, has recommended.
Though there are some risks and side effects, this is the onlyoption Abby has for a pain free life. She is getting the brain surgery on March 18th, 2020.
Abby’s family would appreciate prayers that this surgery would go well, that Abby’s will be pain free, and that there would not be any major side effects. Abby and her whole family know that the Lord is taking care of her, that He will be with her as she has this surgery, and that He loves them all.
“For I, the Lord your God, hold your right hand; it is I who say to you, “Fear not, I am the one who helps you.” -Isaiah 41:13
