Help fight Kyla’s cancer

Donation protected

This is about a young ladies journey through the rough times of cancer.

During this journey we would like you to join Kyla. You can do this through your prayers and donations. You will find this young women worth fighting for. Kyla is young, intelligent and at one time vibrant 27 year old. Once her dreams were full of changing the world, helping others, traveling, getting married, and maybe even having children. Now her dreams are filled with worry and thoughts of being healthy again.

Let’s all work together and help Kyla get back to living life again.

Everything began when Kyla started experiencing severe hip pain. She was working in Boston at the time as a Traveling Lab Technologist. She went to the doctor to see about the pain including various professional such as physical therapist, massage therapist, acupuncturist, etc. They also perform bloodwork on her in which revealed nothing. The pain continued to worsen.
Kyla underwent an MRI for her hip pain and reduced mobility. The first MRI revealed that there was lucency, and white areas on her bones in the hip, pelvis, hands, and lower back regions. From the MRI the medical staff identified an additional mass growing next to her uterus, pushing the uterus to one side, which is causing it not to aligned centrally with her pelvis. The other mass was located off her right hip on the ilium crest. Essentially she had tumors on her pelvis and several locations in her bones. She progressively got worse with limited ability to move. On top of that her vision worsened. She now began walking with a walker. It started to get more painful to walk or even go on long drives. Because of this she was unable to go back to work and subsequently has had to quit her job. Kyla saw her oncologist which scheduled appointments for a CT scan, a full body MRI scan, and a brain scan since she started having double vision and ear pain. Kyla had a biopsy where they took a soft tissue sample of the mass growing off her right hip. And then an MRI of the brain. The MRI revealed a mass on her brain in the clivus region, a bony area at the base of the brain, located behind the nasal area. It appeared the mass is growing from the clivus which is putting pressure on the nerves that lead to her right eye causing the double vision. Kyla has undergone two other CT scans of her abdomen and pelvic as well as an X-ray. She also completed an MRI of her spine.

Results from Kyla's spinal MRI show she has lesions throughout the length of her spine. This means she potentially has lesions throughout the rest of her bones which is causing the intense pain she's been experiencing.

At this time, the source of the cancer where it started from is unknown. Kyla has been diagnosed with a general malignant adenocarcinoma.

Kyla noticed her double vision is getting worse. Her right eye is not able to track to the right as well as it did before. As of now whatever treatment plan they decide on should target the tumor in her brain.

We have started this GoFundMe account to help ease some of the financial burden off of Kyla and her Parents.

Over the next few days, weeks, and months ahead, they will be at countless doctor appointments, hospital stays, and surgeries. With the costs of everyday living rising and then adding medical expenses this can/will become astronomical. We are hoping this GoFundMe will enable Kyla and her parents to concentrate on Kyla getting well and fighting this awful disease without the added financial burden.

Thank you for following Kyla’s journey. But most of all, thank you for your support, encouragement, love and prayers.

There will be more updates ahead.
