Help Fight the Ontario Gym Closures

The COVID-19 lockdowns in Ontario affect everyone. We are unable to go to a restaurant, visit our loved ones, or have friends over.
And since December 26, no one in Ontario has been able to go to the gym or an indoor fitness facility – unless you are an Olympian, elite athlete, or a pro sports player.
This is unfair. Gyms help preserve our mental and physical health, which is especially important nowadays and because we have fewer opportunities to be outside because of the winter weather.
Gyms aren’t just important for high-performance athletes – good health and fitness is important for every Ontarian.
Sascha King is a small business owner who operates NorthXFitness in Kitchener. Her gym caters to the whole community, including those with disabilities who require assistance or adaptive equipment.
She has had enough of the inconsistent and arbitrary lockdown rules. She’s going to court to challenge the gym closures and the new stay-at-home order which both violate the Charter of Rights and Freedoms.
Sascha and NorthXFitness want to reopen and operate safely – just as they were in December before the province-wide lockdown. If it is safe for NHL players and Olympians to go to the gym, then it’s also safe for other Ontarians, including disabled Ontarians.
As Sascha’s gym is closed, she can’t fight the lockdown law alone. She will need your support, as constitutional challenges are expensive. She’ll be going up against the government, which has unlimited resources to fight her challenge.
If you’re someone who wants gyms to reopen safely, think the lockdown rules go too far, or just want to contribute to a good cause to promote physical and mental health, then please chip in $300, $175, $90, $75, or whatever you can to ensure that this gets to court as soon as possible.
We think Sascha and NorthXFitness have a good shot at fighting the lockdown rules and the stay-at-home order and winning. However, they cannot do it alone!
Thank you for your support - it means the world to her.
