Help fill a library with books for Burmese youth

This fundraiser is being run by the Women's Initiative for Self Empowerment (WISE) to support Hau Nuam Vung and the Eden Learning Center in purchasing

Due to the political and economic situation in Myanmar, providing consistent and quality education for youth has been difficult. Youth in Hau Nuam’s village now rely on places like learning centers to receive education and skills development training. The Eden Learning Center is currently in its beginning development stage and we need your help to give youth the education they deserve.

About Hau Nuam and the Eden Learning Center

WISE got connected to Hau Nuam through the Community Solutions Program in 2022, where she worked with WISE for four months developing her knowledge and skills in youth group facilitation and sexual violence prevention. As a young girl, Hau Nuam was extremely invested in learning, especially reading. Unfortunately, her village and her school didn't have a library. Instead, she relied on borrowing books from her neighbors to read. With her thirst for learning and the support of her family, Hau Nuam eventually completed her basic education and received a college degree in English.

Now an adult, Hau Nuam hopes to support youth in their educational journeys. This led her to volunteer her time teaching English at the Eden Learning Center, where their goal is to ensure children their right to an education and give them a safe space to study.
