Help fill a need for Christina Kendrick

Donation protected
Hello, I’m Lisa Anderson and I’m writing this on behalf of my beautiful friend Christina Kendrick. On February 6, Christina underwent emergency surgery and ended up spending almost a week in the hospital. It all started with what she initially thought was a pinched nerve. She was dealing with some pain, but on that Monday, at 3:45 AM, that pain drastically escalated throughout the night to the point where she had trouble breathing. Her daughter Bella called 911, and they sent an ambulance to rush Christina to St. Anthony’s Hospital in Gig Harbor. At the hospital, doctors ran a series of tests to determine what was going on, and discovered that her bile duct was full of stones. Within one day it had filled up entirely, forcing bile into her liver, and raising her liver enzyme levels through the roof. The first surgery was to remove the stones in her bile duct, so they went in through her throat for that procedure. Then they did a second surgery to remove her gall bladder. Thankfully they seem to have addressed the issue, and Christina is back at home now, recovering. Her doctor has insisted that she rest and heal for two weeks, which means time off from work, unpaid. By the time she’s able to return, it will have been three weeks missed in all, and her bills are adding up.

If you are fortunate enough to know Christina, you know that she is a wonderful, loving mom and friend who gives her all. She’s been through more tragedy than most of us can imagine after losing her brother at a young age, then her mom, and more recently, her beloved sister who was also her best friend. But you wouldn’t know it by her smile and the encouragement she overflows with for others. Christina is someone I admire a lot, who is capable and hardworking—and the last person to ask for help. But I could tell this missed time from work was weighing heavy on her as a single mom, so I asked about how she was going to handle it. She has applied for Washington State Family medical leave, but they don’t cover all of her lost income and they are three weeks out in processing which puts her in a bind. She has tried all of her options to cover those bases, but there just aren’t the resources available to cover this unexpected emergency. That’s why I’m setting up this GoFundMe account to provide peace of mind for Christina and Bella as Christina recovers. She was reluctant to accept the help, but I told her that she has friends who would love to be there for her if they knew about her need—and I reminded her that she would do the same if the role was reversed.

The goal of this GoFundMe account is to raise the equivalent of the out-of-pocket cost for the ambulance and three weeks’ worth of income to enable Christina to pay her bills on time. Any amount you donate will help make a difference.

Please keep this sweet mama in your prayers as she heals. Thank you!
