Help fill Brenda’s “canvas of dreams”

Bon jour! I am honored to have been granted permission to wield a magic wand on behalf of Brenda and Jo and reach out to their beloved community to request you and your magic wands join with me to help grant Brenda’s wish
My name is Dawn and I am a hospice and palliative care doctor who has had the privilege of working with Jo professionally over a decade ago. And yesterday, I had the honor of witnessing Brenda’s revelation as she sat in her marathon joint palliative care and oncology appointment with her beloved Jo on their 8th wedding Anniversary!
Yes, that’s right, they CHOSE to spend a significant portion (close to 3 hours) of this sacred day in a medical appointment.
Why?
This was no ordinary appointment. As Brenda said on the way to the car with a beaming smile on her face after hours of deep conversation with her care team, “This visit changed my life!”
How so? You may ask. It’s not because of new test results or new cancer-directed therapies or new prognosis. Brenda knows she likely has less than a year to live. Rather, it’s because Brenda got REALLY clear on what matters most to her. It starts and ends with going to her treasured place, Provence, with her beloved Jo and their family.
Provence holds deep meaning for Brenda and Jo. They have family waiting to receive them with open arms
The moment Brenda uttered “Provence” out loud, EVERYTHING fell into place. All conversations, medical and otherwise, now focus on making this a reality ASAP.
BTW, Brenda literally said she is willing to die en route so long as she knows she is on her way to making her dream come true. And while NO ONE wants or expects this to happen, this is meant only to give insight into HOW MUCH THIS MEANS to her and therefore to Jo and all of us!
THIS is where YOU and I come in. If you had a year to live and knew you wanted to fly anywhere…would you want to fly cramped? (Rhetorical:)
Of course not. Given all the physical discomforts Brenda’s superlative palliative care team has been able to mitigate, it makes sense to make this trip as easy and comfortable as possible
So…here is my ask and invitation… let’s make this a trip of ease and comfort so all that surrounds them is LOVE!
Whether you have miles or upgrades or a few extra dollars to send their way, a few sparkles from each of us will equal one mighty glorious WISH come truefor them.
…which, in the end, is actually a WISH come true for all of us
