Help Fill the Food Pantries in Fort Wayne!

Hi, my name is Adilynn, and I am raising money to buy supplies for the Forward Indiana food pantries in Fort Wayne. Food insufficiency is a problem that is near and dear to my heart. I have had the opportunity this semester to intern at a local food bank, and all of a sudden, food insufficiency seemed a lot more real because I realized it was something that is happening in my own Fort Wayne community.

Food banks are an awesome source of food for many people who don't know where their next meal is coming from. However, there are people who often fall through the cracks - they may not meet the requirements of the food bank, they may not have a way to get there, they may need food more often than what the food bank can supply, the list goes on. That's where the Fort Wayne pantries come into play.

Forward Indiana has installed 28 pantries across Fort Wayne that are 24/7. There are absolutely no requirements for these pantries. You simply come, take what you need, and leave what you can. That being said, these pantries rely fully on the support and generosity of the community. My goal is to raise $500 to use to buy groceries to fill these pantries. I will take the money that has been donated and go grocery shopping the week of Thanksgiving for the foods that the pantries need the most. The holidays are hard on a lot of people, and by being able to provide a little extra food for those in need, we are helping to make the holiday season a bit brighter for everyone!
