My name is Nadia and I am raising money to fund the search efforts for my missing friend, Mamta Kafle Bhatt. Mamta has been missing since July 30, 2024.
Update 08/25/24: New information has lead us to believe that my dear friend, Mamta, is no longer with us. While money is still being used to purchase supplies such as safety vests, whistles, water bottles, and snacks for volunteers, we are taking a bit of a pivot with our goals.
- A memorial service: We are hoping to hold a beautiful memorial service for Mamta. It is important for us as the people who loved her to be able to celebrate.
- Justice: We are keeping quiet about this one for now, but rest assured we have big plans for the future.
- Awareness: We have printed and distributed about 1,500 flyers thus far. We have t-shirt ideas as well as banner designs in the works. It has taken a bit of time and printing has taken up time too. I have personally made the designs and I'm still workshopping a lot of things. We are also working on a website to answer questions about Mamta's case.
- Miscellaneous: We have had a few unexpected expenses, including pens, packaging tape for the flyers, clear file folders to protect the flyers, clipboards for volunteers so that the flyers don't get bent, boxes, binder clips, notebooks, a pouch to physically organize receipts, and much more. I even purchased a tick remover for a safety kit I put together for the volunteers, and it did come in handy!
Update 9/6/24
Due to a lot of controversy, I am removing the confusing language from my previous update. I want to clarify that NONE of the money has gone to me or my personal expenses. None of it ever will. 100% of it will go to this cause. I apologize for the confusion.
Just to remind everyone, the PRIMARY goal of this is the search and all things related to the search. All of the things I listed in the first update are still items I am focusing on purchasing.
If you don't want any money to go to me, please do NOT donate to this fund. This money goes to the campaign I have created.
