Help Find Yogurt- Derek & Amanda Knoll Taylor
I know the pain we are all feeling for Amanda and Derek is a million times worse for them. I started this go fund me to help alleviate some of the costs associated with trying to find (we are all praying for a miracle) or recover their sweet golden retriever, Yogurt, who was last seen after he went into the Bolton potholes on Friday.
I feel the easiest and best way to describe the horrific tragedy that Derek and Amanda have been through is to use the words that she has spoken herself:
*I will continue to post any updates*

UPDATE- 3/30/2021
From Amanda at 9:40AM
We have received a call from someone who says that the dog in the surveillance video is her dog that got away from her on Friday. Her time makes sense with the time stamp of the video. So it is not our boy. Our last bit of hope that he could have miraculously survived. Please help us find our boy so we can have some closure

UPDATE- 3/29/2021
****please if you live on the Duxbury Road side of the Winooski River, please check your outdoor cameras or game cameras if you have them. Help us to identify this dog that was seen Friday walking through this yard on Duxbury Road towards Cochran Road area. ********
This is the video sent to us by someone’s surveillance on Duxbury Road in Bolton. We are not certain this is our dog, but we are trying to be cautiously optimistic because we have no body or anything else to go off of. But it’s not a great quality video. Please if you recognize this dog, let us know. Though the time stamp is from Friday morning, the owners say the time stamp is often not completely accurate.
We are holding onto the last shred of hope that this could be our boy and that he is alive. It’s all we have. But we are trying to figure out if that’s possible.
A dog tracker so kindly helped us today and he believes his dog to have found some of Yogurts fur near the Winooski River in field on Duxbury Road. ❤️

Amanda & Derek WCAX3 News Interview
UPDATE 3/29 at 5:30 pm: we know this is a long stretch that Yogurt could have survived with how rough the river is and how many boulders there are....but we are trying to hold onto hope after talking to many people that believe our boy could have somehow made it.
We were contacted with a video from someone’s surveillance camera on Duxbury road. We are not exactly sure if it’s our dog and the owners time stamp is from earlier in the day Friday than when the event took place- but they said the time stamp is not always correct. Please watch the video and see if you recognize this dog. And please let us know if you are sure the dog is yours or someone else’s.

Furthermore, we are offering a $1,000 reward for anyone who can bring Yogurt home to us.

Also- the golden retriever male found in Canada is not our dog, we hope he finds his family.❤️

I can’t believe I’m even writing this, but our sweet boy- the light of our life- Yogurt - got ripped away by river rapids in the Joiner Brook (Bolton Potholes) in Bolton, Vermont on Friday at 2 pm. My husband Derek almost died, literally, trying to save him but fortunately against all odds pulled himself onto a rock just before the huge waterfall and was rescued after 4 hours by the courageous rescue teams (Richmond, Colchester Technical and Stowe Mountain).
We have been searching for Yogurts body along the Joiner Brook, but we believe he could be along the Winooski River. We found Derek’s Nalgene bottle that was in his pocket during the attempt to save Yogurt halfway down Joiner Brook. We found one of Derek’s socks on the bank of the Winooski just after the junction where the Joiner Brook meets the Winooski.
We are heartbroken and in a state of shock over the loss of our perfect boy, that we couldn’t save him and misjudged how dangerous the area was to be walking around. We will never get over this. Ever. but we need to find his body and we would love anyone’s help.
Fishing season is approaching in Vermont and we are hopeful that Yogurt will turn up. Please, if you are near the banks of the Winooski, or Joiner Brook- please keep your eye out. The water was incredibly rough that day, there is truly no telling how far the current may have taken him. Or whether or not he was wedged somewhere along the joiner brook in the potholes or if he reached the Winooski. If you see a dead animal, please check if it’s our boy. He is about 65-75 lbs, very floofy, wearing a moo cow Lupine dog collar with his “Yogurt” name tag. Our phone numbers are on the back of the tag, but just in case it was ripped off, mine is (717) [phone redacted]. Please, please spread the word. Finding our boys body is so important to us.
In addition, if you pray then please pray hard for us. If you don’t pray, then please send every positive piece of energy and love you can our way. Yogurt was our absolute world. The best thing to ever happen to us. We are physically and mentally dead and trying to figure out how to function to cope with any of this sick nightmare.
