On December 1st, Firefighter/Paramedic James Swindlehurst tested positive for Covid. James contracted the virus while working as a paramedic at mercy ambulance in Dewitt. James continually served his community selflessly during the pandemic, knowing that he could and likely would contract this virus.

Unfortunately James took a turn for the worse and is now intubated and in the medical ICU at Sparrow.

Kayla (James Wife) is left with caring for their horse of a dog Eli, while trying to pay their monthly bills on one income! Before he was intubated Kayla was told that James would likely be in the hospital for close to 3 weeks. This does not include the months of recovery James is more than likely looking at.

As a medical first responder James put his life on the line to help his community, I am hoping we can do the same for him!
