Help fix Leyzer's teeth and skull

This past spring, our friend Leyzer — a trans Jew and beloved, creative, integral member of our community — sustained serious injury in a confrontation with some nazi punks at a local show. Their skull was fractured and they had two teeth knocked in. They have been recovering these past few months from an initial surgery and a major concussion that has been both painful and significantly debilitating. Thankfully, we were able to fundraise to cover the cost of their initial medical bills. However, they are in need of surgery to replace their teeth now that their skull has finally grown back enough to get dental implants. They have received a surgery date for mid-October, and are in need of urgent funds to cover the cost of the dental implants as well as the abutment and crown on two teeth.

We are additionally fundraising to cover their immediate needs post-surgery including food, medicine, and other basic necessities to keep them cared for as they heal. And, we have set the goal higher than these basic costs in the hope of supporting our friend to access reliable therapy in support of their healing and recovery from this traumatic experience of violence. In addition to the difficulty of recovering physically and emotionally from their injuries, our friend has not had consistent access to stable housing in which to process and experience healing. We want to alleviate some of that burden and give them the space to focus on returning to relative health and wholeness.

Leyzer is such a special, ingenious, playful, kind and proactive friend and community member. They dedicate themself to so many projects that sustain our local communities and the broader webs in which they weave. Let’s show up for them and get their mouth in good working order again so they can keep using it for all the brilliant, righteous, gross and silly things it’s supposed to be doing!!
