Help fix Lishie's broken heart & teeth

You might remember me from such fundraisers as: 1. 2012- my child was diagnosed with severe autism and insurance covered nothing at the time! My kid is now mainstreamed in High School. That’s thanks in part to donors like you! 2. 2022-my ex-husband took me to court for a year long custody battle. I still have custody, and that’s because of donors like you! Now it’s me…I’m not doing too well lately and I ran out of PTO. Due to my declining health, I missed a lot of work and wasn’t paid for it. I am an hourly waged nurse. I don’t have savings (see above) and I don’t have parents (mom died last April and she died poor.) (my dad has wealth but he is an abusive narcissist whom I have gone no contact with. He is not allowed to see his only grandchild, ever.) I’ve been kind of sickly my whole life. We always attributed it to asthma, and later we learned I have some autoimmune illnesses like Hashimoto’s thyroiditis, and celiac. I’ve survived tumors, including a 3cm thyroid tumor! But having been a cardiac nurse, I would have never guessed that I had some congenital defects. We don’t know for sure if it’s the defects or something else causing me to be very weak, lightheaded, short of breath, and with constant on and off chest pressure. I contacted Duke Adult Congenital Heart team and they see me next month, and I’ll have some answers and hopefully, they can fix the rare connection between my SVC and LA in my heart. I don’t know if a repair will give me my life back, but I am ready to try. I just need some help staying afloat, keeping the lights on, and food on the table, and help towards rent and medical bills, until we find a nursing desk job for me (my managers are helping me with this!) and I’m working less hours now til we do, and cannot do bedside patient care anymore.
