Help Fix My Teeth So I Can Give You a Bigger Smile Than This

It's honestly incredibly embarrassing to have to do this, and I've been delaying it for months because I'm dreading the very idea of putting my personal business out there. I hate asking people for money, for one, and it's also awkward to acknowledge one's medical issues in a public sphere. Also, if anyone deems this not worth their time, I absolutely do not blame you. There are far more important causes in the world than my jacked-up teeth. That said, I could use a little help.

I have to get my teeth fixed, and as anyone who has been through that process knows, it's not cheap. I had adult braces for several years, and they were really hard on my teeth, particularly when I switched to Invisalign at the end of the treatment. The Invisalign caused a great deal of tooth erosion, which I wasn't aware was a possibility. Since I got them off last year, I now have these thin, translucent teeth with big black triangles between them. (Apparently, I've also started grinding my teeth in my sleep, making matters worse.) It's been difficult for me because my mother had to have all her teeth removed when she was around my age, and I remember how hard that was for her. I worry constantly about chipping a tooth, and it's also not terribly pleasant to drink hot or cold liquids anymore. I almost never talk about this to anyone because it all mortifies me so much.

I had an estimate for dental bonding, which would address a lot of the erosion I've experienced and help prevent even more of it. It's very expensive, so I've decided to crowdfund for part of it and try to pay the rest myself. I'm a freelancer with the bare minimum health insurance (meaning no dental), so all of this is out of pocket for me. It's not a great situation, and I don't want to ruin my savings and finances just to have functional teeth that don't embarrass me. I stopped smiling with my teeth in photos several months ago, and even talking to strangers who don't already know me makes me anxious. I really don't want to have to worry about this anymore.
