Since his youth, Flynn has been an avid hiker. Starting with family vacations in the mountains and growing into a favorite pastime, the challenge of navigating rough terrain is something that Flynn is no stranger to. He has always been up for the climb.

In December 2022, the ultimate physical challenge presented itself - cancer. Without warning or symptoms, Flynn was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer at the age of 35. The initial prognosis was not promising, some surgery and treatment but low odds and lifelong illness. Despite the news, Flynn kept climbing. While he had physical pain, side-effects from treatment and the emotional weight of the situation, Flynn has continued to run his own business and raise 2 beautiful young children with his incredible wife Melissa.

In the last 9 short months, Flynn has had surgery to remove some of the cancer and has been receiving bi-weekly chemotherapy treatments. Originally a second surgery to remove additional cancer was not an option, but through the power of GOD’s healing hand and Flynn’s fighting spirit, a second surgery is now possible!

On September 12, Flynn will have surgery at UVA to remove the remaining cancer. During his time Flynn will not be able to work for at least 6 weeks. The family could use financial support to offset medical expenses and lost wages. If you are able, please consider supporting the Townsend family. Any gift makes a huge difference!
