Help for 13 year-old Peter recovering from a TBI
Donation protected
Last week, Peter was hit by a car a few feet from his home in New Haven, CT. He was rushed to the local hospital and admitted to the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit. He has been diagnosed with a severe traumatic brain injury and has several brain contusions and a brain bleed in his cerebellum (the control center of his brain), yet he surpasses his doctor's expectations and continues to fight for his survival.
If you know Peter, you are lucky. To know him is to feel his love and care. Peter is the type of teenager to choose a walk around the neighborhood over a joystick. He asks you if you need help unprompted. He watches over his siblings with care, makes dinners for his family, stops fights at school, and always looks for ways to make those around him feel better. He is intelligent, adventurous, curious and passionate, and everyone who knows him realizes that there is something special about him.
We don't want to see Peter lose his spark. He is fighting so hard to come back to us. I am starting this GoFundMe to help his family focus their energy and efforts on Peter and hopefully remove the stress of things like day-to-day bills, groceries, transportation, medical and rehabilitation costs, etc. On top of that, Peter will need help once he is well enough to leave the hospital—I'd like this fund to be there when he is ready and needs monetary assistance. If you cannot donate, please share.
