Henry's Fight Against Cancer

Hello friends, family and social media.

We're reaching out on behalf of the best bloke we know, Henry Erskine. To raise funds for treatment outside of the NHS to aid his fight against Stage 4 cancer.

During this testing time there has been some light and happy news. Henry's amazing wife, Lucy has become pregnant with twins, expected in March 2025, their first children. Henry was fighting this illness hard before but knowing he's to be a father is giving him that extra push to raise his children and be the incredible dad we all know he will be. Which brings us here..

He knows we're setting this up and absolutely hates it and feels it's "begging" but the journey which I'll describe here briefly and with a talking to from his close friends and family, he has agreed for us to get it moving.

In 2021, at the age of 32, Henry was diagnosed with Leiomyosarcoma. A form of cancer that falls under the umbrella of Sarcoma and occurs in soft tissue.

It started with a little cough and when further investigation was carried out, they found Henry had a 15cm sized tumour in his left lung.

Henry had the lung removed and 30 sessions of radiotherapy as a preventative treatment. This left him in a position of monitoring, regular X-rays and CT scans once a year.

Fast forward to July 2023, Henry had a CT scan which unfortunately found that the cancer had reoccurred and spread to 5 locations.

Henry is the strongest willed and most disciplined guy I know in fighting this. He's been on varying chemotherapy treatments since the diagnosis.

The first 2 types didn’t work and there was still significant growth. The 3rd has helped to keep them medically stable for the first few months, he's now awaiting a scan with the hope that everything still remains stable.

As he is rapidly running out of treatment options with the NHS, Henry has started looking at alternate routes, even joining a social media community with experts and fellow cancer patients. The expense of the various supplements, treatments, potential future treatments and private consultation appointments are proving to be unsustainable.
