Help for Andy Selby
Donation protected
Our friend Andy Selby needs some help. A few weeks ago he was walking home from a party and got clipped by a car. He woke up in the hospital with minor injuries but was charged with being drunk in public because of his blood alcohol percentage. This led to him being held for past alimony he owes to his ex-wife.
He's still being held in Williamson County jail and may spend another 30-60 days there depending on his court case on Wednesday June 19. Hopefully he'll be released then. His ex has said she's willing to forgive the debt. Andy's income is significantly less than it was when they were married, and he's unlikely to be able to pay it off any time soon since he's been barely scraping by for some time now.
Which leads to a deeper issue for Andy. He's been struggling with depression and alcohol dependency for a long time and this is an opportunity for him to really get the help he needs to turn things around. He's qualified to receive help from Music Cares, a non-profit here in Middle Tennessee that helps musicians who are in need. They can offer some short term assistance to get Andy into a short term treatment facility to help him get a handle on his life. This fundraiser is to help with that and also give him a leg up finding a new place to live and fix his car.
Andy has been a generous friend to the Franklin community for years, supporting artists and being the heart beat of Kimbro's Tuesday Night Deconstructed Writer's Night. His passion and talent for music are evident to all who have heard him play or shared a stage with him and have earned him a Grammy (though he won't tell you that).
He's had a hard time for too long, and although most of it is probably self-inflicted, it's time his friends offered a hand. He's had enough and is ready to make changes. Your contribution can help.
