Help for Ashleigh and Chris

Ashleigh Poland and Chris Harrison are two of the most generous, helpful, and wonderful souls I have ever met. They are the friends who never hesitate to offer a helping hand, help you move, fix your fence, listen to your problems, and offer support however they can. They give their time and energy, love and support, Chris would literally give you the shirt off his back if you needed it. They have been there for their friends and community time and time again. Now they are finding themselves in need of our help.
As some of you may know, Ashleigh has been traveling back and forth since Oct. to UCSF with her father for his chemo treatments, he is battling his 3rd occurrence of brain cancer. This is time away from work, costs for gas and lodging, and the emotional toll that comes from caring for a loved one in such a challenging time.
To add to this, on Nov. 2nd Chris unexpectedly found himself in the hospital for emergency open heart surgery. Thank goodness he gave in to Ashleigh’s demands to go to the hospital or we would not be enjoying his company today. As if that is not enough, due to the nature of the procedure Chris will not be able to work for 3 months and will undoubtedly have insurmountable hospital bills. This now leaves Ashleigh unexpectedly as the sole income provider for their wonderful family of 3.
To add to the first two, on 11/15 while Ashleigh was driving the one reliable vehicle to run some errands, the right caliber bolt came off the rear tire, destroyed the wheel/ rim causing her to swerve off the road and very luckily did not end up in the hospital herself. Adding to the financial impossibility that they are finding themselves in, replacing the wheel or wheels is proving excruciatingly difficult and leaves Ashleigh with the likelihood of a rental and rental costs until a solution can be found.
And now yet again to add more insult to injury, another unexpected financial burden in the form of healthcare has come up for the family that needs to be taken care of quickly.
All this to say, these wonderful souls could really use some extra support from their friends and community right now. Whether it comes in the form of cash money, or meals cooked, or whatever you are able to offer it’s our turn to return the loving kindness these wonderful people so selflessly give.
