Help for Baby Luka and his Family

Hi everyone, as some of you may know, my sister and her partner Liam gave birth to a beautiful little boy named Luka on 18/03/2023. Luka was flown out to the Royal Melbourne Children’s Hospital at one week old to find out that he has a heart condition called Aortic Stenosis. This is an extremely rare condition that only happens in 1% of babies, unfortunately their little guy was one of the unlucky ones. The doctors informed Rebecca & Liam the day after that he will have to undergo open heart surgery the next morning. As you can imagine this news absolutely broke them. Luka made it out of surgery but unfortunately he did not cope well with the surgery. The doctors informed Rebecca and Liam that they will need to do a second heart surgery and that Luka will need to stay in hospital for the next 3 months and then have a third heart surgery. He will then need to go back to the RCH in Melbourne at 4 years old and have a fourth heart surgery. This was their only option as there is nothing else that can be done to save little Luka. We are praying that he copes well to this second surgery! Liam and Rebecca are currently unable to work at this time and want to be there for Luka as much as possible. They still have living expenses back home in Tassie. Liam also has a 6 year old son, Jaylen whom they want to be able to come to Melbourne to see them and his little brother as much as possible. All funds will be used towards this beautiful family at their discretion and hope it’ll help ease the stress of not being able to work at this incredibly hard point of their’s and their son’s life ❤️
