SOS BAHAMAS
Donation protected
I was lucky to have a flight out of the Bahamas last Saturday. Just one day before the hurricane struck. I felt really bad for all the lovely people I left behind. I would like to raise money for the real people in the Bahamas.. the ones living in wooden shacks, that lost everything in this hurricane. I will personally make sure the needy will get this money. Your donation of cash or materials are really appreciated.
Update: I have my friend Rufus E. Johnson in Nassau right now organising help for the people of Abaco, Bahamas. He is sending me pictures of the barge that he has hired as they are loading it. He said the situation is even worse than words or pictures describe it. As funds are being promised, it will take time to get to the people and they really need basic stuff right now. He will send me a list of the items needed most urgently. I will then decide wether to send a package via DHL or if the stuff is available in stores in Nassau to transfer some of the funds that I have received through your generous donations to him.
All money will be used to purchase supplies which will be transported by boats or planes!!! He will have another barge going over next week and he also has 2 friends with airplanes that are transferring the goods and making sure the people get it. I'm posting some pictures as they were loading the barge yesterday and also a tragic photo of the destruction (I pixelated it out of respect)
A big thanks to all that have given so far. Every cent counts!
